The Trafalgar Tavern Wedding of Nhung and Anthony in London Greenwich.
Date : May.2014
Ceremony and Venue : Trafalgar Tavern, London
Couple : Nhung and Anthony
Greenwich Wedding Photographer : Dewan Demmer
Second Photographer : Janhoi Anderson
The Trafalgar Tavern looks over the Royal Naval Academy on one side and a wonderful view of the Thames river through the large Georgian windows on another. This Grade 1 listed building , the Trafalgar Tavern was built in 1837 and is positively modern by Greenwich standards.
This was the venue for Nhungs and Anthony’s wedding, with friends and family coming from all over the world and as far away as Australia, and Scotland. The couple decided to keep it simple and really let it be a day to celebrate their Trafalgar Tavern wedding with friends and family, enjoying a drink and catching up with everyone. It really was about enjoying the company of those around them, and as the guests waiting for everything to start they mingled and chatted and caught up on the news.
The Ceremony overlooked the Thames through a Large Bay Window, but I do not think neither Bride nor Groom noticed as they only had eyes for each other. I say this however their young son did get their attention during the ceremony, and this not his job ? He did an excellent job of delivering the rings, tied with ribbon, on a cuddly London bus. With the ceremony done, the guests got to blow bubbles as the newly wed couple walked down the aisle. The bubbles of course were brilliant for their young son who could barely contain his excitement.
A really fun and relaxed Wedding I got to photograph, in Greenwich across from the Royal Naval College and a step away from the Thames River. The Trafalgar Tavern is a building with a history all its own and this adds to the atmosphere and character of any wedding. The couple are a really relaxed and interesting couple and made a special effort to be sure to spend as much of their Wedding day their friends and family. The days focus really was about those who were present as much as it was about the Newly Wedded couple.
The theme for the wedding was London, with each table named after a London Street, and small London Cabs and London Buses placed on each table. Each place setting had a small chocolate in the shape of something very London, from a Red Telephone Booth to Big Ben. The Trafalgar Tavern’s look and feel complimented the theme, from the creaky wooden floors, the view of the Thames and beautiful Dining Room, with its high Ceiling and Classic Paintings.
I must thank Janhoi Anderson who assisted me on the day by seconding and making my day so much easier.
